There are mainly 2 styles of trainer on the market right now seen in the Bowflex Treadclimber vs the Nordic Track incline trainer:

The first design offers 2 dual treadles (like 2 smaller treadbelts) that rise to meet your feet as you walk. It's a very cool looking piece of equipment and was created to be 'the' ultra-fast weight loss machine.

The second design is similar to a treadmill - with a really high incline (up to 40%). So there is just one treadbelt instead of two. This is a better choice if you want to run as well as walk.
